(June 7, 2010) Lilly Pulitzer, the harbinger of the classic sleeveless shift, has chosen Van Dessel Sports to design a beach cruiser to bear the iconic stylings of the Lilly Pulitzer brand. The new Printed Cruiser – cleverly referred to as an “accessory that’ll really move you” – features casual, curvy cruiser lines with flip-flop-friendly pedals and a step-through frame for cyclists who prefer skirts to shorts.

“We have a good history of town and commuter bikes and always like to keep things fun, so when Lilly Pulitzer approached us about designing
and co-branding a beach cruiser we were thrilled to jump at the opportunity to liven things up a bit for summer,” said Edwin Bull, founder and president of Van Dessel.

The steel Van Dessel cruiser frame will be wrapped with Lilly Pulitzer floral graphics and feature single-speed gearing, coaster brake, a double coil-spring comfort saddle with easy-adjust seat clamp, lightweight aluminum wheels with 26” whitewall tires, stitched-on leather handgrips, and welded steel kickstand.
